Christine first started the flute in 2016, in Shanghai, China, and continued the flute when she moved to Seattle, Washington in 2017, and San Mateo, California in 2019. She has played in numerous youth orchestras, such as the Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra, California Youth Symphony, and Golden State Youth Orchestra. She was selected to be first principal in the Washington All-State band in 2018. She was also selected to be a Finalist in the Honors Performance Series and performed at Carnegie Hall in February 2022. In summer 2022, she toured Europe with the Golden State Youth Orchestra and performed in the International Musica Orbis Festival in Prague. She was also selected to play in masterclasses with renowned flutists, such as Sarah Jackson, Catherine Payne, and Linda Chesis. Recently, she was selected to perform at the 2023 Tampere Flute Festival in Finland.
Currently, she studies with Isabelle Chapuis. She plays in the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra and performs under Maestro Daniel Stewart. Repertoire includes Scheherazade, Peter and the Wolf, Beethoven 5th Symphony, and Rite of Spring. In addition, she performs with the Stanford flute choir, under Karen Van Dyke. She is a versatile flutist, with experience playing piccolo, bass flute, and alto flute. In her free time, she also maintains a private flute studio for beginner students.
