Dylan Danis Schenker

Dylan Schenker, age 16, is a pianist-composer based in Bethesda, MD. He has won awards in many local, state, national and international performance and composition competitions, recently including the National OPUS Music Competition (2023, Merit Prize), the Miriam S. Gottlieb Piano Competition (2023, First Place), WMTA Young Composer Competition (2023, First place), and the American College of Musicians International Piano Composition Contest (2023, Winner). He studies piano with his teacher of eleven years, Mary Kading. In summer 2023, Dylan also had the opportunity to study at the Reina Sofia School of Music in Spain as part of the Young Artist program.

Dylan attends Montgomery Blair High School, where he is a junior in the STEM magnet program and plays violin in the orchestra. He volunteers his time and shares his passion for music with others through the Tacy Foundation, by leading concerts at nursing and rehabilitation centers and giving free piano lessons to seniors and elementary school students who could not otherwise afford them. In his free time, Dylan enjoys playing the violin, studying chess, and playing with his dog Skipper.
