Dylan Hardy

Dylan Hardy is a freshman in the instrumental program at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in New York City. He began his professional saxophone training in 2017, and his teachers include Dr. Wonki Lee and Dr. Geoffrey Landman.

In middle school, Dylan was introduced to the alto saxophone in band class and was immediately drawn to the instrument. He was selected to be first chair alto saxophone during his first year in the band, and was recruited by the school music teacher to mentor other saxophone students. During the 2019-2020 school year, he auditioned for and joined the elite band, a select group of students who rehearsed after-school and gave performances in the neighborhood.

In addition to playing the saxophone, Dylan is also an accomplished pianist. He has been taking piano lessons for six years and has studied with Dr. Anna Keiserman for the past four years. Recently, Dylan participated in the New York Laureate International Music Competition on saxophone and the New Jersey Music Teachers Association Spring Piano Festival.

Moreover, Dylan has been taking music theory lessons with pianist Artyom Pak and studying jazz theory with Dr. Oliver Santana.

Dylan loves music and regularly attends performances at Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, New York Philharmonic, and other venues. He also enjoys hiking and camping in the great outdoors.
