Dylan Hardy is a senior in the instrumental program at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts (FSSA) in New York City. He is a member of the FSSA Symphonic Orchestra and principal alto saxophone in the FSSA Wind Ensemble. He began his professional saxophone training in 2017, and his teachers include Dr. Wonki Lee and Dr. Geoffrey Landman.
In addition to playing the saxophone, Dylan is also an accomplished pianist. He took piano lessons for eight years and studied with Dr. Anna Keiserman.
Previously, in 2023, Dylan participated in the Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition on saxophone and performed at Carnegie Hall. He also attended the University of Michigan’s MPulse summer saxophone program, studying with Dr. Timothy McAllister.
More recently, Dylan took part in Saxofolia’s Fanano Saxophone Week in Italy, where he had master classes with Alessandro Malagnino and David Salleras, and studied with Fabrizio Benevelli, Giovanni Contri, Marco Ferri, and Lorenzo Simoni. He will be participating in one of the New York State School Music Association’s (NYSSMA) All-State Ensembles in December 2024.
Dylan loves music and regularly attends performances at Carnegie Hall, New York Philharmonic, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and other venues. He is an Eagle Scout, who enjoys hiking, camping, and snowboarding.
