Emily Shi

Emily Shi is a freshman at Glenelg high school in Maryland, USA. She started to play piano and sing for Peabody Children’s Chorus at age 5. She began to learn violin at age 8. She also composed music and won multiple composition awards. She is currently a student of Ms. Rebecca Henry at Peabody Institute of JHU. She also studies violin at Performance Academy at Peabody under Mr. Christian Tremblay. Emily plays violin at BSYO, PYO, Howard County GT orchestra besides school GT orchestra. She served as concertmistress for multiple orchestras and concerts. Emily is also multi-award winner in several music competition both national and international. Beside violin, Emily competes in tennis matches at school varsity tennis team and local tennis clubs. She is also a big advocate for community service and has devoted hundreds of hours to volunteer work, both musical and non-musical.
