Eric Michael Reilly

I am 14 and in 9th grade at Lynbrook High School in Lynbrook, NY. I play oboe, English horn and violin. I started playing music when I was 7 and progressed to the state solo competitions (NYSSMA) when I was 9. Upon receiving outstanding scores at every level, I was able to perform with the All-County band and in the Long Island String Festival every year since. I am now in the high school wind ensemble, marching band and symphonic orchestra and I a member of Tri-M, the music honor society. I am also a member of the pit orchestra and look forward to multiple solos in the school musical version of Les Miserable in April.
I have performed with multiple private orchestras over the years and recently joined the Long Island Youth Orchestra. I am an alumni of the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, Nassau Suffolk Youth Band and the Children’s Orchestra Society. I have performed in Carnegie Hall twice, most recently as a soloist grand prize winner of the 2022 International Music and Arts Society Olympia Music Competition. I was also a finalist in the 2022 North Shore Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition and performed a solo at a concert in Adelphi University. I am a 2021 NYS PTA Reflections contest Award of Merit Winner for my original music composition, which I performed on English horn. I attended USDAN Summer Camp for the Arts for two summers and I participated in the Pierrot Chamber Music Festival in 2019 and 2021 and will be joining the festival again this summer. Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have attended several virtual
Master classes, most by invitation only. While all master classes were lead by professional musicians, I was able to learn from some of the best college facility and even had the opportunity to enjoy a double reed camp. I have two more master classes scheduled in upcoming weeks, which I was invited to as a result of the high honors received in the state competitions last year. I will again be performing at the highest level possible on all 3 of my instruments in the state competitions later this year. I have been studying music theory in my spare time with my oboe teacher and I plan to continue to pursue music in college. I have received several school, district, county and state awards of achievement in music over the years and have high aspirations for my future career in music performance.
