Isaac Wong, age 16, began cello studies at age four. He has studied with Dr. Leslie Marckx since 2013 and also works with studio collaborative coach Dr. Li-Tan Hsu. Isaac has been involved with the Seattle Youth Symphony organization for 9 years and is currently a member of the Youth Symphony Orchestra. Isaac is honored to have performed in masterclasses for Richard Aaron, Alison Wells, Amir Eldan, Anthony Ross and Anna Clift. He has received numerous honors such as winning first place at the Performing Arts Festival of the Eastside, first place at the American Protégé International Concerto Competition, and first place at the Grand Prize Virtuoso International Competition Brussels. He also received honors and recognition at the Cascade Symphony Rising Star Competition, Bellevue Symphony Concerto Competition, and the Seattle Young Artists Music Festival. In his sophomore year, he held a principal cello position at the Washington All-State Orchestra and was selected in the All-Northwest Orchestra in the 2022-23 school year. When not playing cello, Isaac can be found playing baseball, biking, or skiing in the Pacific Northwest.
