Karissa Thai

Karissa Thai is an eighth-grade violinist who began studying the instrument at the age of five under the guidance of Tasi Matthews. She recently received first place in the Elite International Music Competition and has had the opportunity to serve as concertmaster in numerous orchestras, one of which includes the North Carolina Junior East Regional Orchestra, competing across the state. Karissa also spends her time as a violist, playing in chamber ensembles and recently serving as a principal violist in her local orchestra, Triangle Youth Philharmonic.
