Kate Hsia is fifteen years old and lives in California. Her current piano teacher is Tamami Honma with whom she has studied for almost two years. Kate loves music and besides playing the piano, she has also played the clarinet and composed music for her school’s orchestra. Kate won first place in the 2023 US International Open Music Competition (Advanced Division for Solo Piano) and has won second place in both the Vivace International Piano Competition and Music Legacy Open Competition. In addition, she recently played in a benefit concert to raise money for Ukraine. Besides playing piano, Kate also enjoys tennis and robotics. Her favorite part about playing the piano is being able to share her love of music with others.
