Katrina Cheng

Katrina started her violin training with Ms. Marissa Murphy, who serves as Principal Second Violin of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, at the age of 3. Katrina has a strong passion to music. She was awarded First Prize in 2021 International Music Competition Rome Grand Prize Virtuoso. In 2022, she was awarded First Prize and Special Young Talent Award in Golden Classical Music Awards; First Place in Elite Music Competition and King’s Peak International Music Competition; Second Place in Crescendo International Competition and VIVO International Music Competition. She is also the top 5 Finalists in Music International Grand Prix 2022. She performed in world-class concert halls including the Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall and Weinberg Center. She has been a constant participant in the prestigious Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras and has been taking a leading role as Concertmaster and Associate Concertmaster in different youth string orchestra tiers.
