Lucas Sun

I began violin lessons when I was 3 years old with Ms. Karin Pollok, who taught Suzuki Violin Program at Rockland
Conservatory of Music in Pearl River, NY. This marked the first chapter of my musical experience, where I learned about Suzuki and finger exercises. In 2015, our family moved to California, and I attended the Westside Music Conservatory for change. At the Westside Music Conservatory, I studied with Ms. Eriko Tsuji from 2015-2016 and Mr. Shura Sasaki from 2016-2018 where I continued examining Suzuki fundamentals. Now, I have been in the SOL-LA Music Academy for around 6 years, and have been taught by Ms. Reina Inui, Ms. Margaret Lysy, Mr. Samuel Lorenzini, and Mr. Benjamin Bartelt. At SOL-LA, I have been playing in the Arco and Alto Ensemble with Ms. Lysy and Mr. Lorenzini since 2018. I have been in the Advanced Chamber Orchestra group at Lincoln Middle School for 2 years and attended the 71st Annual “Stairway of the Stars” Concerts of the SMMUSD Music Program. Additionally, I have had the honor to perform at Disneyland California Adventure Park in 2022 and 2023. Finally, I played at the Santa Monica Youth Orchestra (SMYO) during the 2022-2023 season (serving as principal second) and participated in the Level 7 Certificate of Merit Examination earlier this year.
