Lumina Zhang performed piano in Carnegie Recital Hall in 2017, 2018 and 2019 because of winning PTSA competitions. In 2018, she received special award for mastering and memorizing ten pieces because nobody in the 38-year history of PTSA had accomplished this. She received first prize in “Music of America” category sponsored by GCCS and won the State of Delaware MTNA Junior Piano Competition in 2019 and 2021. In addition to piano, Lumina is very passionate about viola playing. Lumina has been playing viola for the prestigious Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras (MCYO), Montgomery County and school honor orchestras. She won Third prize in 2022 Baroque Music Competition sponsored by Charleston International Music Competition.
