Miyako is a 9 year old student in Washington state and began playing the piano at the age of 7. She has been studying under Steinway Artist Dr. Yelena Balabanova.
Miyako recently won a Gold Medal in the International German Music Piano Competition, double GOLD medals in the Sanford Wright Chamber Music Competition, a Gold Medal in the EMTA Time Era Festival and a Gold Recognition in the Jazz, Rags and Blues Festival. Miyako enjoys reading biographies of classical music composers. Her favorite composer is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and her favorite pianist is Nobuyuki Tsujii.
