Ryan Cho

Ryan Cho is a sophomore at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy that has an unwavering love for music. He believes that music is a powerful tool for conveying emotions and messages to its listeners and has pursued his passion for the violin with incredible dedication. Ryan’s love for the violin has garnered him numerous accolades, including earning a Talent Scholarship of $25,000 from Illinois Wesleyan University’s School of Music and winning the Concerto Competition of his regional youth orchestra’s concert orchestra. He has also achieved significant accomplishments in various other musical competitions, such as being selected as Division One in the IHSA State Solo and Ensemble Contest and receiving an invitation to play in the honors recital for the Illinois School District 204 for his outstanding performance for solo violin in the district’s solo and ensemble contest. In addition to his exceptional solo performances, Ryan has been selected to play in several prestigious orchestras, such as the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) States Honors Orchestra as a 1st Violinist, ILMEA District 9 Senior Orchestra twice, and ILMEA District 9 Junior Orchestra twice. He has also served as the Assistant Concert Master for the Symphony Orchestra in the Youth Symphony of DuPage (YSDP) for many years and has always been a part of his school’s Chamber Strings Orchestra. Ryan is also an active member of his school’s Society of Music Performers club, where he showcases his talents and shares his love of music with others. With his musical abilities and commitment to excellence, Ryan is sure to leave a significant impact on the world of music.
