Sherry Dong discovered her passion for piano through an old, seldom-played spinet at home during her childhood. In third grade, under the guidance of Mrs. Hsiu-Hui Chen, Sherry began her formal music studies. After winning the Golden Classical Music competition, she got her first real piano, which then became her steadfast companion. Throughout high school, Sherry embraced challenging pieces like Beethoven’s sonatas and Chopin’s etudes, cultivating discipline and patience. During the lockdown, she participated in online concerts for senior residents in Ann Arbor. In the past years, she played for the seniors in the community. In the past years, she has won first place in the 2022 and 2023 international Golden Classical Music Competition, and third place in the 2023 Charleston Classical Music Competition.
