Su Hyun Cho

I am a 16-year-old that was born in South Korea but raised in China for most of my life. It was around the age of 11 when my mom convinced me to try out the viola. At first, I didn’t understand what the difference was, but I as I played, I was truly convinced why I wanted to become a violist. Through my career, I started playing in the orchestra at my school when I was in 5th grade. As I moved into middle school, I continued playing in the orchestra, and with fair seating auditions, I was able to sit in first chair. My second year of middle school was when I got recruited to join the high school symphony orchestra, which was an exciting and great opportunity for me. As time went by, I joined the Korean Youth Orchestra as first chair when I was in 9th grade, and currently I have been persistently playing in both high school symphony orchestra and Korean Youth Orchestra.
