William Feng, 11 years old, is a 6th grader at Lakeside Middle School, WA. He started learning piano at the age of six with Dr. Christopher Bowlby at Chopin Academy of Music. William loves music and has a great passion for playing piano. He has received many top awards in international and regional piano competitions, including:
* First Prizes in Charleston International Music Competition – 2022 Romantic Music Competition, 2022 European Music Competition, and 2022 Spring Music Competition;
* First Prize with Judges’ Distinction Award in 2022 American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition;
* First Prize in 2023 Crescendo International Music Competition;
* Absolute First Prize and Expressive Performance Prize in 2023 UK International Music Competition;
* Gold Medals in Chopin North West Piano Competition for 2022 and 2023 (Helen Belvin Scholarship);
* Gold Medals in Seattle International Piano Festivals & Competition – Bach Festivals for 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 (Distinguished); Classical Viennese Festivals for 2020, 2021, 2022 (Distinguished), and 2023 (Distinguished); and Virtuoso Artists Festivals for 2021, 2022 (Distinguished) and 2023.
William has performed in the venues including Carnegie Hall (Zankel Hall and Weill Hall), Scottsdale Performing Arts Center, Benaroya Hall, and Meydenbauer Hall. Besides playing piano, he is keenly interested in musical composition. William is also the founder of a music club and the chief editor of a music magazine at school.
