Xinrui Huang

Xinrui Huang, a Chinese-born pianist, began her first piano lesson at the age of 4. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in piano performance for Nanjing University of Arts at the age of 17. During her college years, she was selected as the only student from the Conservatory of Music who went to Taiwan University of the Arts as an exchange student and received a full scholarship in 2017. Xinrui received a scholarship and a master’s degree from Mannes School of Music, where she studied under pianist Jerome Rose from 2019-2022. Xinrui was admitted to the University of Washington, the University of Oregon, the University of Missouri-Kansas City and the University of Kansas for the DMA Degree at the same time in 2022. Currently, she is pursuing a doctorate in piano performance at the University of Washington and studied with pianist Craig Sheppard. Xinrui has won multiple awards in national and international competitions. Recently, she won the gold medalist with first place in international German Music Piano Competition in 2023. She also won awards in the Yamaha Asia Scholarship Competition, the ‘Jasmine Cup’ Competition in Jiangsu province and the Macau Piano Invitational Competition, etc. In previous years, Xinrui also actively attended and performed in various master class and music festivals with invitation. For example, she has attended the music Festival of Seattle Piano Institute, the second Sino-US Exchange Music Festival held by the New England Conservatory of Music, Mannes Sound Festival of ‘Music Excursion through History’ and so on. She has participated the master class with Prof. Gabriel Chodos, Prof. Victor Rosenbaum, Dr. Robin McCabe, Prof. Balangkov, Prof. Hans Ryckelynck, Prof. Alvin Chow and were highly praised. Xinrui’s performance is often highly praised by professionals in the industry and the public. She was once commented by the pianist Peter Takáes, and it goes: ‘Xinrui Huang is both a poetic and powerhouse pianist and receiving our Grand Prix prize at our annual international piano competition was not a surprise. We are excited and eager to hear Xinrui’s artistry on the international stage for years to come. Congratulations to one of our most memorable pianists we have ever heard.’ Xinrui is passionate about sharing her knowledge and technique with her students. she is a member of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and she has over eight years of experience as a piano instructor.
