Alex Du and David Mao

Alex Du and David Mao

Alex Du – Alex started his musical journey with the piano at the young age of 5, and started violin at the age of nine but changed instruments to cello. He has performed cello at Heinz Hall with his orchestra, Three Rivers Young People Orchestra(TRYPO). He also got the opportunity to perform at Carnegie hall in New York City with the TRYPO Conquer Carnegie Tour. Alex has even played piano at Carnegie hall back in 2019. He continues to play and enjoy cello and piano to this day and found a passion for music.

David Mao – From a young age, David always loved music. His older sister would have her lessons at home, and David would sit in awe listening to the sounds produced. When he turned 6, David started playing himself, and learned the basics. Over the years, he has gained more and more experience, participating in recitals and accompaniments. When he turned 10, he started taking the PMTA assessment tests every year, and scored the highest score possible every time. Now, he is very avid about playing and plans to continue to play for others.
