The Dunamis Piano Duo was created in spring 2015 by Soojung Jeon and Yoonsook Song when they met as doctoral students of Dr. Martha Thomas at the University of Georgia. Their passion for piano duo music inspired the name “Dunamis,” which means inherent power.
The pianists’ artistic achievements include the prize of Third Place in the US International Duo Piano competition and the American Prize, the First Prize in the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition and their Carnegie Hall debut on May 2016. Also, Dunamis piano duo won the second prize at the Ischia International Piano Competition, with no first prize being awarded. They have appeared in master classes by renowned pianists such as Wu Han and Alessio Bax.
The duo shows exceptional musical harmony and ensemble maximizing each other’s strengths. Currently, they are developing their career as a piano duo team devoting their artistic endowments. Their repertoire includes wide range of styles from baroque to contemporary music.
Soojung and Yoonsook has been enjoying their time finding beauty of piano duo music. They share the love of music, great excitement and lots of laughter playing together.
