
Alexis Dyche is a 13-year-old who began playing the piano when she was 5. Training under the tutelage of Dr. Ji-Young Kim, Alexis first performed in public at the 2020 Tucson Music Teachers Association’s Ensemble event. In February 2021, Alexis was selected as one of the First-Place winners at the Charleston International 2021 Classical Music Competition and she later won First Place in the 2021 Reno-Tahoe Piano Competition. Additionally, in both 2021 and 2022, Alexis garnered First Place honors in the Arizona State Music Teachers Association annual state-wide piano competition. In 2022, she earned Second Place in the Bay Area Piano Competition and in 2023 won First Place honors in that competition. Also in 2023, Alexis was selected as a Laureate and performed at Carnegie Hall in the prestigious June 2023 gala in New York City. Later that June, she also performed in the International Prominent Pianists Festival in Buffalo, NY. In both 2023 and 2024, she was selected as one of the First-Place winners at the Charleston International World Music Competitions. Early in 2024, she performed the 1st Movement of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.2 with the Western New York Chamber Orchestra in Fredonia. Performing that same concerto, she won First Place in the Civic Orchestra of Tucson’s Young Artists Competition and was the only artist selected to perform her winning piece with the orchestra at its recent annual benefit concert. She also took First Place honors in the Tucson Music Teachers Association’s Merit Scholarship auditions in 2024. Placing second in the 2024 Arizona State Music Teachers Association’s competition, Alexis was of only three pianists statewide (and the only Intermediate Division pianist) selected to participate in the Master Class taught by Alon Goldstein. Also in 2024, she attended the Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan where she was the only pianist who performed in all three recitals. Later that summer, Alexis was awarded 1st Prize and #1 Exceptional Performer in Charleston International Music’s 20th Century 2024 Competition. Next, in January 2025, Alexis took 2nd Place honors in both the Junior Solo and Concerto categories at the Angelo and Micheline Addona Arizona Young Artists Piano Competition – the only junior pianist to place in both categories. Also this year, Alexis placed second in the 2025 Avanti/Steinway Future Stars Piano Competition. More recently, Alexis won First Place honors in the 2025 Bay Area Piano Competition. Finally, in July 2025, she took part in the InterHarmony Music Festival in Acqui Terme, Italy, where she was selected to perform in the final Piano Showcase as well as the final Chamber ensemble event. Home-schooled for the past five years, Alexis is also a 2nd Degree black belt in Dang Soo Do, a Korean martial arts sport and has won numerous gold medals at state and national competitions including two first place medals at the 2023 National Championships. She also enjoys playing with and training her two 4-year-old standard poodles.
