Andy Qien Wu

I started to learn playing violin at the age of 4. My private violin teacher is Dr. Jie Kim, who is an accomplished violinist in the Washington DC metropolitan area. I have been learning from Dr. Kim for 8 years. I was also trained at the Potomac Arts Academy of George Mason University where my father is a professor. I have played violin in the TCSYO (The Capitol Symphonic Youth Orchestras) for two years (2019-2020) before the COVID19 pandemic. In 2020, I participated in the violin competition in the Metropolitan Music Festival, and was awarded the Second Place for my solo violin piece (Spring from the Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi). I am currently a 6 grade student, and also a violin player and a member of the Cougar Chamber Ensemble at Benton Middle School.
