Andrew Sun-Zhuang

Andrew Sun-Zhuang is a fifth grader. Since Age 7, he began taking lessons with the world’s well-known pianist Dr. Ivona Kaminska Bowlby at the Chopin Academy of Music. Andrew loves music and has a great passion for playing piano. He has received many top awards in international and regional piano competitions, including
– 1st Place – Barum Music International Competition
– Gold Medal – The 2023 Seattle International Piano Festivals (SIPF) Bach Festival
– 1st Prize – The 2023 Spring Music Competition of Charleston International Music Competition
– Gold Medal – The 2023 SIPF Classical Viennese Festival
– 1st Prize – The 2023 Crescendo International Music Competition
– 1st Prizes – 2022 and 2023 Contemporary International Music Competition
– Gold Medals – 2022 and 2023 SIPF Virtuoso Artists Festival
– Gold Medal and Audience Favorite Award – The 2022 Seattle International Piano Competition
– Winner of the 2022 American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition
– Carnegie Hall – Winners’ Concerts – February 2023 at Zankel Hall and May 2023 Weill Hall. Andrew will perform in Carnegie Hall again during Memorial weekend of 2024. Andrew also performed at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts in Arizona to fundraise for Poland Children’s Hospital in March of 2023. In addition, he attended different recitals at Benaroya Hall, and performed at various concerts, such as the “Chopin and Beyond” concert, around the Seattle area to help the local communities’ fundraising. Besides playing piano, Andrew is deeply interested in musical composition. He also teaches his younger brother basic music theory and simple songs by using storytelling and interesting ways.
