The Golden Trio was officially formed at Opus Chamber music camp in the summer of 2018. The talented young ladies have a long history of performing together, dating back to 2013 with Westminster Christian String Ensemble under the leadership of Andrew Anderson and subsequently Stephen Reichelt. They had the pleasure of meeting their accomplished bassist Ian King at a Christmas chamber performance in 2016 and have performed since at weddings, parties, retirement homes, church services, and competitions. With each member proficient on multiple instruments, this versatile chamber group can perform in various combinations with violin, viola, cello, bass, piano, and harp. As a trio, they had the pleasure of performing with the Youth Symphony of DuPage concerto competition winner in February 2018, creating their own chamber accompaniment. Along with their younger siblings, the group also enjoys creating theatrical music videos, arrangements and original compositions. All three currently perform as members of the symphony orchestra for Midwest Young Artists Conservatory in Highwood, IL. They are especially grateful to those who have inspired their playing, including their coach Lyudmila Lakisova, orchestra director, Dr. Allan Dennis, Desiree Ruhstrat and Tatyana Stepanova. The musicians have played at Jay Pritzker Pavilion, Harris Theater, Ravinia, Wentz Hall, Chicago Botanic Garden, Northwestern University Pick-Staiger Concert Hall, University of Chicago International House and Cantigny Amphitheater. Sofia and Ian also perform with MYAC’s I’ Solisti chamber group conducted by Charlie Pikler, and Miriam performed with the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra under the tutelage of Dr. Allan Dennis. When not playing together, the group enjoys creating theatrical music videos, arrangements and compositions.
